Rice pudding

INGREDIENTS

3/4 cup medium/long grain rice

4 cups milk of choice

1/2 sugar or honey

1.5 cup water 

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

blueberries (or other seasonal fruit)

Forte Chocolate fruit spread

DIRECTIONS

Stovetop:

  1. Cook on medium heat until the water is absorbed 
  2. Stir in 4 cups of milk and 1/2 cup sugar
  3. Optional: (add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract) 
  4. Cook uncovered over medium heat for 30-40 minutes stirring frequently 
  5. The pudding is done when the thickness reaches oatmeal like consistency 
  6. Add in your favourite Forte Chocolate fruit spread

*If overcooked, it will solidify when cooled then add more milk or water to make it creamy

 

Rice cooker:

Cook the rice along with all the other ingredients 

Leave the rice cooker on warm until custard sets 

Cover and cook for one cycle in rice cooker till creamy

Close cover for a second cycle, stir 15-20 minutes until desired consistency is reached

Serve warm or cooled in the fridge for at least an hour
